The Inside Public Procurement podcast aims to help public procurement teams tackle the profession’s latest challenges and opportunities

(KITCHENER, ONTARIO, August 4, 2021) — Bonfire Interactive Ltd. (“Bonfire”), a business unit of GTY Technology Holdings Inc. and a leader in eProcurement and strategic sourcing solutions, today announced the release of a podcast for public procurement professionals.

Inside Public Procurement features procurement leaders and practitioners from different public entities across North America, including state and local government, K-12 and higher education, transit, utilities, and more. The aim of the podcast is to take an unfiltered dive into the complexities of public procurement, providing a go-to space for procurement pros to learn tips, tricks, and best practices straight from their peers.

“It seems like there’s a podcast for everything these days,” said Omar Salaymeh, CEO at Bonfire and co-host of the podcast. “But when it comes to informative, consistent, and fun podcasts for public procurement, there aren’t a lot of options. We set out to make a podcast that wasn’t only educational, but also light-hearted and easy to consume at any point in your day. One of our goals here at Bonfire is to help build a place where public procurement can share, learn, and grow; bringing on podcast guests who are willing and excited to connect and collaborate with listeners is one way we’re fulfilling that mission.”

The podcast launched today with three introductory episodes, featuring:

  • Jennifer Frates, Chief Procurement Officer at Barnstable County, who highlights the wins her team has experienced through collaborative purchasing
  • Joanna Hunt, Buyer/Supervisor at Central Washington University, who discusses her experience creating a culture of collaboration across a diverse range of employee demographics in her department
  • Aaron Howell, Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Kennesaw State University, who shares why customer service is critical in public procurement
